From being a mere producer to establishing it as an esteemed manufacturer, Touchwood Weaves Pvt Ltd has come a long way in the textile industry. The company was founded by Late Dr. Parshotam Lal Bhatia, having completed his doctorate in organic chemistry from the USA, decided to start this company after he was posted as the HOD of chemistry Department at South Gujarat University in 1970.
The company’s journey began in 1988 and it made its mark in 1995, when it began trading in grey and processed fabric. The growing textile market in Surat was a massive opportunity knocking at the door. From 1994-2001, the company operated in Surat with a flourishing business of yarns and fabrics.
In May 2001, Touchwood Weaves Pvt Ltd took another step forward when it ventured into manufacturing of readymade garments, after setting up a factory of 60 machines . Having understood the business offered, right from manufacturing to retail, it built its base and cemented its position in the market.
In 2007, the company put its foot into the brand business by taking part in a national garment fair and attempting to launch its own label through an exhibition. However, there were still a few grey areas, which needed to be plugged before it could make a full-fledged entry.
With a factory spread over a sprawling area of 6400 sq ft, today the company produces merchandise for large format stores and top-notch fashion brands. Looking forward to diversify its business, the company plans to set up a vertically integrated manufacturing unit which would include weaving, fabric processing, garmenting, washing, finishing, warehousing and logistics.

Meet the team
PARSHOTAM LAL BHATIA
Late Dr. P.L. Bhatia did his PhD in Organic chemistry from USA and availed the Doctorate degree. He served as a professor of Organic Chemistry in South Gujarat University. and was the head of Chemistry department . After his retirement, being a highly educated man, with his experience he encouraged his son Mr. Puneet Bhatia to start a business of his own. This laid the key role in foundation of Touchwood Weaves Pvt. Ltd.
PUNEET P. BHATIA
Mr. Puneet Bhatia born in Delhi in April 1967 and brought up in Surat is a graduate from P.T. Science College, Surat in the year 1986. At a very young age while he was studying his graduation, he started working part time in the textile field as a commission agent for grey fabric and polyester yarns.In a very short span he took the market by storm by being the highest grosser of sales as well as volume of grey fabric in surat. He was a leading supplier of grey fabric to the largest and most renowned mills of Surat.
His enterprising nature led him to move to Mumbai in year 2001 as part of forward integration of moving from Textiles to the clothing sector which was the final consumer product.
He always dreamt of making a world class affordable fashion clothing brand which would cater to the masses. His magnatic dynamic personality makes him work towards his mission of making it happen and would not let it go till he feels he is not achieved it.
